If you are not sure how to post an RSS feed onto your site, with WordPress it’s a snap. Just copy the RSS feed URL and paste it into the widget. If you have a traditional HTML website, check out one of these options- http://www.rss-specifications.com/display-rss.htm.

Through my 25+ years of trucking (supervising drivers, hiring and training, owning a small trucking company), and writing about trucking safety and city driving in Ten Four Magazine for ten years, I have become an expert in a field which I created:

Safe City Driving.

Most people who drive in heavy traffic don’t give it a lot of thought, other than maybe getting angry. The problem is, people look at it emotionally, when they could be taught to look at it logically.

I first published my Ten Keys to Safe City Driving in 2007, in Ten Four Magazine. For the next two years, I sold it on CD as an audiobook. It was a great idea. After all, drivers could listen to the CD while they drive, and see exactly what it was talking about while it was happening.

I got a lot of positive feedback over the next couple of years, and sold tens of thousands of CD’s. After getting a lot of requests for a video, I finally made one in 2009. And, although the video was not as big a hit as the CD financially for me, again, I received a lot of positive feedback.

I wound up doing a lot of radio over the next couple of years, appearing as a guest, being interviewed, and debating aggressive drivers who called into the shows. It was a lot of fun. I always wanted to do radio, and still aspire to have my own show one day.

Then, the requests started coming in for me to come and speak to drivers at safety meetings. Over the past two years or so, I had to turn down more and more speaking engagements, simply because it was too far away to be cost-effective.

I figured out that most companies would pay a few hundred for an important topic like this, but not two thousand. (Which is what it would cost to send me to California, get a hotel room, rent a car, etc.) So, I could only do speaking engagements that were located in my home area- Chicago to Indianapolis.

The bottom-line is this; If you hire drivers, they need to learn these Ten Keys to Safe City Driving, one way or another. It’s very important, and it will make a difference in their lives (and save your company a lot of money and troubles.) So, I invite you to browse the links in this article, and make an informed decision.

If your company is located within my area (Chicago to Indianapolis), I will come and speak to your drivers for only $300. At that meeting, you are welcome to record it on video. Then, you will have it any time you want to show it to new drivers or management. That was a tough answer to find for this problem. But thankfully an easy solution.

And to think, I reinstalled Firefox, Flash, and scoured the web before I figured this solution out. So I thought I’d post it for anyone else who is struggling with it.

I’ll show you all of them, but not necessarily in order of best to last. Every demo that you click on will lead to an actual website made with a free WordPress theme. I wanted to make a list of ten best, but so far I only have seven themes that really qualify as premium quality, free WordPress themes.

I looked so hard, for months, at every so-called magazine/news style theme before I found Chronicle. Finally, a professional looking news theme. This is another one of those themes that come with more files (plugins, readme) than just the theme- so you’ll have to unzip it, then find the theme folder and zip that one up before you upload it. But it’s well worth it. Truly a premium quality WordPress theme for free.

6. Global News 1.0 by InstantShift

Another great them I had a tough time finding. I wanted a pure newspaper look for one of my sites. I struggled with trying to clone LATimes or WSJ, but that would have been nearly impossible. Then I found this premium quality free WordPress theme.

7. Magazine Basic 2.6.12 by c.bavota

This is probably the one theme with the most versatility. It does just about everything and does it easily. Another true premium quality free WordPress theme.

8. Coming Soon

Those who know me or read any amount of my writing probably know I was a trucker for many years, and a columnist for Ten Four Magazine for ten years. I have over 100 articles about city driving, and a video called Ten Keys to Safe City Driving. This particular article has been in dozens of print publications, and reviewed online and off. It’s a good all-around article that anyone who drives will enjoy.

I don’t want to let websites all over the world copy and paste my articles onto their sites, but a few have. However, if you send out a newsletter to your employees, or have an online newsletter and you are looking for some free content for it- I don’t mind if you use any of my articles- provided you always link back to my site at www.bigcitydriver.com.

If you do a radio show and are looking for some content, you have just found it. I am an old radio guy from way back, and I’m here to help. I can offer you some free content ideas for your show in two ways. After you read this, check out my airchecks on the Radio link above.

First, as a guest on your show. I’m an expert in a field which I created- causes of traffic jams and road rage. I was a writer on this subject for ten years with Ten Four Magazine and I’ve done a lot of guest spots over the past six or seven years. I’ve been on the Trucking Bozo, Matt McAllister, Bill Mack, and a few others I can’t remember.

Another thing I love about WordPress is its a Content Management System (CMS). Everything you file on it, whether it’s a picture, a web page, a post, a comment, even keywords used (or tags, as they are called), WordPress automatically files it all away and easily finds it through the search box.

If you look at the list of domains (My Sites) on the right, you will notice a lot of them are WordPress blogs. Oh yeah, one more great thing about WordPress is it lets people comment (and continues making more web pages on every one.)
